Mountain Jam Orchestra proudly takes on the music of the Allman Brothers Band.  The Allman Brothers Band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1969 by brothers Duane Allman and Gregg Allman, as well as Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson. While the band has been called the principal architects of southern rock, they also incorporate elements of blues, jazz, and country music, and their live shows have jam band-style improvisation and instrumentals.   For us, as musicians who came of age in the 70's the Allman Brothers are ingrained in our musical upbringing.  The Allman Brothers Band were able to produce a countless string of hits as well as carve out a new sound in the American landscape.  It's an unmistakable sound, it's a sound we strive for every time we play.  Nothing pleases us more than to play this music for people and hear there stories of Allman Brothers concerts and the good times they had while listening to the Allman Brothers Band.
